2012 AGM

Saturday 12 May 2012
National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, London

The Society's 2012 AGM and one-day conference will be held on Saturday 12 May, 2012, in The Muller Lecture Theatre, National Maritime Museum, Greenwich London, SE10 9NF.

The theme this year will be Dutch horology and it is hoped we will be hosting a number of members from the Dutch Section of the Society. Provisional details are here.

More detailed information will appear in the March 2012 issue of Antiquarian Horology and will be made available here at that time.

2011 AGM

The Society's 2011 AGM and one-day conference was held on Saturday 14 May, 2011, from 10.00am to 4.30pm, at The Muller Lecture Theatre, National Maritime Museum, Greenwich London, SE10 9NF.

Delegates were welcomed by the Chairman.
The opening address was from our President, Sir Arnold Wolfendale FRS, followed by his lecture 'Twenty-first century timekeeping'.
The second lecture was 'Precision timekeeping: from Bürgi to Graham' by David Higgon.

The annual general meeting took place immediately after lunch and was followed the third lecture from Jonathen Betts entitled 'Precision timekeeping from Maskelyne to Airy'.
David Rooney rounded off the day with 'Precision quartz timekeeping in Britain, 1930-1960'.

2010 AGM

The 2010 full day event and AGM was held on 29 May 2010 at The Muller Lecture Theatre, National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, London.

We were pleased to welcome members of our sister organisation from Germany, the German Society for Horology (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Chronometrie). Two of the lectures were kindly given by their members.

The morning session's opening address was by our President, Sir Arnold Wolfendale.
The first lecture was 'An Early German Turret Clock' by Klaus Schlaefer.
The second morning lecture was 'The German Longcase Clock' by Ian Fowler.

After lunch the business of the AGM was conducted, followed by the third lecture,
'The Harrison Pendulum Clock No.2' by Andrew King.

The afternoon was rounded off by the draw for the raffle.

2009 AGM

The 2009 full day event and AGM was held on 16 May 2009 at Baden Powell House, West London.

The morning session's opening address was by our President, Sir Arnold Wolfendale, entitled ‘Galileo Galilei and the Year of Astronomy’.

The first lecture was ‘Making History, The Work of a Contemporary Sundial Maker’ by Lady Joanna White.

After lunch the business of the AGM was conducted, followed by the second lecture: ‘Not a Bad Timekeeper, The English Lantern Clock in the Seventeenth Century’: Sir George White.

The afternoon was rounded off by the draw for the raffle
