New Journal Editor

Jeff Darken has edited the Journal Antiquarian Horology for the past 10 years and has developed its style and quality to produce one of the best and most respected specialist journals in its field. A vote of thanks for his sterling work was proposed at the AGM in May 2009.

At the Society's AGM the new Editor of the Journal was introduced. He is Dr. Peter de Clercq. He will take over from Dr. Jeff Darken for the September 2009 issue.

Peter was educated in Amsterdam and from 1983 to 1999 he was a member of staff at the Museum Boerhaave (the National Museum of the History of Science and Medicine) in Leiden. He has lived in the UK since 1999. Peter has been the Meetings Secretary of the Scientific Instrument Society, and has informally assisted the editor of the 'Bulletin of the Scientific Instrument Society'.

Council welcomes Peter as a new member of the AHS, and wishes him every success as our new Editor.
